    Position Title:Personal Care Aide, John. F Kennedy Middle School

     

    Salary/Pay Scale:$17.32 to $20.68 an hour

    The successful candidate will:

    Work closely with a specific student to support the student's individualized education program and medical needs. Report to the Special Education Teacher, Principal, Director of Special Education & Student Services.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS:

    + Monitor and support the student's medical needs with basic technology support (training will be provided on the use of technology).

    + Perform simple errands and tasks, if necessary, for the student(s), such as sharpening pencils, carrying lunch trays, traveling to the health office, etc.

    + Accompany the student to whom assigned in hallways and special areas.

    + Maintain professional confidentiality at all times especially with all interactions with the student(s).

    + Serve the District flexibly, as special education personal care aides may be reassigned to another building, program or student as the need arises.

    + Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the teacher, Principal, and/or Director of Special Education and Student Services.

    Requirements:

    + High School Diploma

    + Demonstrates good communication skills and is able to have patience, interest in children, and be physically/emotionally able to handle rigorous programming.

    + Evidence of the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.

    + Such additional qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
