    About this position:

    **Carrier Transicold** is seeking a self-motivated **Mechanical or Electrical Engineer** to join the **Syracuse, NY** **Truck/Trailer Power Generation team** . In this role, you will provide design, development, and verification engineering support with a focus on diesel engines, their associated engine subsystems, fluids (typical, alternative, & biodiesel fuels, oils, & coolants) and filtration.

    Role Responsibilities:

    + Conduct design evaluation, benchmarking, supplier evaluation, project tracking, and subsystem qualification of diesel engines and related subsystems used in the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU), genset, and auxiliary power unit (APU) applications.

    + Create and/or modify documentation including technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans, reports, and engineering change notices.

    + Support global Sustaining Engineering Groups with their evaluation of engines, subsystems, or component field or test sample failures to determine root cause and identify appropriate corrective actions.

    + Participate in and lead component design reviews.

    + Interface with cross functional team members, diesel engine manufacturers, and other suppliers from design concept to production.

    + Apply knowledge of DFMEA or other robust engineering tools, tolerance analysis, simulation and statistical methods to improve robustness and quality of TRU engines and components.

    + Implement and support development testing activities, including daily interaction with Carrier Transicold test engineering department and component vendors.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

    + 10+ years experience of compression ignition (CI) and/or spark ignition (SI) engines or related engine/exhaust aftertreatment component.

    + 8+ years experience in any of the following engineering disciplines: functions / engine application / development (testing) / or validation.

    + 2+ years experience in diesel engine emissions, certification process and/or compliance.

     

    Preferred Qualifications** **(assets)

    Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

    + Some experience in technical leadership (guiding junior engineers, leading technical peer-to-peer reviews, etc.) supporting team members with executing projects desired.

    + Familiarity with HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) systems is desired.

    Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

     

    This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.

    Pay Range:

    $94,500.00-$165,000.00
