Description:
The VP, Safety and Quality is responsible for the overall development of the regulatory system within their assigned division. In addition, the VP, Safety and Quality **is** **responsible for maintaining that system to be in compliance with state and federal guidelines while ensuring the production of a compliant quality product. The VP, Safety and Quality shall direct and oversee Inspection, QA, safety, medical and environmental leadership team members and department heads for his/her assigned division.**
What you will be responsible for:
+ **Provide FAA interface and regulatory interpretation for all regulated entities at your business unit**
+ **Conduct weekly regulatory updates with quality, talent acquisition, training, environmental, FAA and safety representatives for assigned business unit.**
+ **Develop and maintain the Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual for all repair stations within the assigned business unit.**
+ **Maintain liaison with all Quality, Safety and Environmental Leadership within the assigned business unit and provide guidance for the correction irregularities.**
+ **Maintain liaison with regulators responsible for Safety, FAA and Environmental oversight of ARR Corp**
+ **Develop, maintain and oversee the internal surveillance program for the business unit.**
+ **Develop and maintain the Safety Management System for the business unit.**
+ **Monitor regulatory compliance performance of the assigned business unit and initiate actions to resolve systemic non-compliance.**
+ **Maintain and direct the voluntary disclosure reporting program in accordance with AC00-58 as revised.**
+ **Maintain the FAA operations specifications for the facility using the FAA database WEB-OPSS.**
+ **Identify system deficiencies, develop system revisions, and incorporate revisions into regulated manuals while ensuring standardization within all business units.**
+ **Oversee weekly activities of assigned departments and maintain regular communication with facility General Managers**
+ **Perform review of all written investigation responses for customers and regulators.**
+ **Interface with the FAA CMU on behalf of the Accountable Manager.**
+ **Review and revise applicable required manuals and submit manual revisions for FAA Approval/Acceptance.**
+ **Maintain FAA Operations Specifications on WebOPSS and ensure display of current information on the company databases HELP and Coruson.**
+ **Digitally sign operations specifications.**
+ **Initiate and accomplish certification of new repair stations.**
+ **Coordinate regulatory certification in the best interest of AAR.**
+ **Respond to all FAA written communications on behalf of AAR as it pertains to the assigned business unit.**
+ **Provide updates on regulatory issues to the President of Airframe Services and President of Cabin Solutions.**
+ **Maintain AS9100 corporate program with registrar.**
+ **Perform investigations related to regulatory compliance issues and develop summary reports.**
+ **Respond to all FAA, OSHA and EPA written investigations as it pertains to their business unit.**
+ **Represent AAR in FAA legal proceedings as it pertains to the business unit.**
+ **Acquire and renew foreign certifications as required.**
+ **Represent AAR from a regulatory perspective to all customers and contractors.**
+ **Review all contracts for regulatory compliance.**
+ **Add additional certifications to FAA authorities as requested.**
+ **Develop, review and approve customer interface documents on behalf of HAECO Americas.**
+ **Oversee and maintain responsibility for the DOT Drug and Alcohol Abatement Program.**
+ **Acquire and maintain all regulatory certificates pertaining to DOT, FAA, foreign NAA, EPA and OSHA.**
+ **Provide regulatory updates to internal management during scheduled review meetings.**
What you will need to be successful in this role:
+ **A&P Certificate with no previous regulator certificate actions**
+ **10 years’ experience in commercial aviation quality leadership in both the maintenance and manufacturing environment.**
+ **Minimum 1 year of specialized aviation related education or related college degree**
+ **5 years practical experience in working directly with FAA regulatory bodies to include legal division, Flight Standards, Aircraft Certification Office and Manufacturing Inspection District Offices.**
+ **5 Years experience dealing directly with state and federal environmental regulators.**
+ **Extensive experience and knowledge of applicable CFR’s and legal interpretations commonly used in aircraft maintenance and manufacturing environment.**
+ **Experience in incident/accident investigation**
+ **Advanced PC skills to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel**
+ **Strong communication skills**
+ **Working knowledge of aircraft technical manuals**
Physical Requirements:
+ Normal office environment where approximately 70% of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time walking and moving around the office and aircraft hanger area.
+ Duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, etc. Handles typical office supplies weighing less than 10 lbs.
+ May be required to handle marketing display, trade show and sale materials weighing up to 25lbs.
+ Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for keyboard operations is necessary approximately 25% of the time.
+ Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
+ Drivers’ license is required for local and out of town travel.
+ Requires domestic and international travel.
