    **UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES** has an outstanding job opportunity for a **Technical Project Coordinator 3** .

    WORK SCHEDULE

    + 100% FTE – 40 hours per week

    + Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

    **UW Medicine IT Services (ITS)** is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

    + **HYBRID opportunity (approximately 3 days/week telework)**

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    As part of the multi-year Harborview Bond Program, this position plays a critical, enterprise-wide leadership role in technology planning, coordination, and delivery. The Bond Program encompasses major construction, clinical modernization, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation efforts—requiring deep collaboration across all IT domains, not only within ITS but also across external groups such as Clinical Engineering, Facilities, Ops & Maintenance, Construction and Design teams, King County, vendor partners, and operational leaders.

     

    The Bond Program introduces unique operational, political, and technical complexities that require advanced leadership, cross-functional coordination, and independent judgment. Key complexities include:

     

    + Navigating a multi-agency environment involving King County, UW Medicine, internal and external partners, general contractors, and third-party vendors

    + Coordinating across all domains, including Network, Security, Data Center, Application Services, Facilities/Low Voltage, Clinical Engineering, A/V, Buildings Systems IT, Ops and Maintenance, Construction and Design and King County partners

    + Translating Bond priorities, architectural plans, and construction timelines into IT requirements, risk considerations, and operational impacts

    + Balancing competing standards—Bond Program standards may override ITS norms for project reporting, governance, or architectural approaches

    + Managing high-visibility, time-sensitive issues with significant patient safety, financial, and operational impacts

    + Ensuring strong documentation practices, including requirements, design artifacts, testing plans, and operational readiness deliverables

    + Working across multiple organizational cultures and hierarchical structures with no direct supervisory authority

    + Ensuring technology solutions across construction, clinical improvements, and infrastructure enhancements are **strategically aligned** , technically sound, future proofed, and operationally sustainable

    + Providing enterprise visibility across IT and non-IT teams

    + Supporting modernization of aging infrastructure and establishing future-proof standards

    + Coordinating work across ITS, Clinical Engineering, Facilities, IT Governance, and outside partners, ensuring the voice of UW Medicine is represented for future strategy in every phase of design and construction

    + Mitigating risks that could delay construction or impact patient care, safety, or regulatory compliance

    REQUIREMENTS

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience

    + 6+ years’ experience must include the below:

    + Proven experience in strategic planning and enterprise IT delivery, including scope definition, requirements gathering, cost/benefit analysis, and process optimization

    + Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-scale technical initiatives through the full lifecycle

    + In-depth knowledge of methodologies (Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, ITIL)

    + Knowledge of healthcare clinical and administrative systems

    + Ability to apply financial concepts (TCO, ROI)

    + Knowledge of BA best practices (IIBA BABOK)

    + Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)

    + Hands-on experience in planning, coordinating, and executing complex infrastructure/application activities

    + Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

    + Experience in process improvement and governance alignment

    $147,000.00 annual
