    Position Description

    The Lewis Lab seeks a talented and enthusiastic Research Fellow to help in the development and application of novel 3D bioprinting methods for disease modeling and therapeutic tissues. The ideal candidate will report to the Principal Investigator in the Lewis Research Group and work closely with a senior postdoctoral research associate. This is a 1-year position with an opportunity to be extended. Please note that this position is not benefits-eligible.

    The Research Fellow candidate will have the following responsibilities:

    • Assist in the development, preparation, and execution of bioprinting protocols to fabricate disease models and therapeutic tissues.

    • Contribute to a multidisciplinary team encompassing tissue engineering, mechanical design, materials science, and biology.

    • Conduct cell culture, microscopy, and associated molecular biology tasks and protocols with minimal supervision and in collaboration with Lewis lab members.

    • Think creatively to develop and validate experimental protocols.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Written and verbal skills for communicating scientific ideas.

    • Strong organizational skills.

    • The ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment is strongly preferred.

    • A strong work ethic and a willingness to work outside of his/her discipline to accomplish project goals.

    • Experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescent imaging, confocal microscopy, ELISAs, and PCR .

    • Experience with microfluidics, bioprinting, and/or related microfabrication techniques is a plus.

    • Knowledge of cancer biology and/or immunology is a plus.

    • Prior experience in either cell culture, biological assays and/or mechanical design (using computer-aided software).

    Salary Range

    Fellow postings:

    $50,000 – $70,000

     

    Pay offered to the selected candidate is dependent on factors such as rank, years of experience, training or qualification, field of scholarship, and accomplishments in the field.
