    The Vice President, Quality is a physician executive responsible for leading Arkansas Children’s systemwide strategy to ensure excellence in the quality of care. This role provides executive oversight of clinical effectiveness and outcomes, performance improvement, infection prevention, and quality education. The VP promotes a culture of continuous learning, transparency, and innovation that drives improved health outcomes for children.

     

    The VP collaborates across departments and clinical teams to operationalize high-reliability practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and empower leaders at every level to engage in improvement efforts. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

    Required Education:

    Graduation from an accredited school of medicine, completed an accredited 3-year Pediatric residency and board certified or board eligible., M.D. - Doctor of Medicine or D.O. - Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

    Recommended Education:

    Required Work Experience:

    Clinical - 10 years of clinical experience, Leadership - 5 years of senior leadership experience focused on healthcare quality.

    Recommended Work Experience:

    Other - Advanced training in Quality and Safety

    Required Certifications:

    License eligible in AR specific to education such as MD (License) or DO (License)Note: Candidate must possess at time of hire -

    Description

    1. Lead and execute a systemwide quality strategy aligned with Arkansas Children’s mission and strategic plan.

    2. Oversee key quality functions including Clinical Effectiveness & Outcomes, Performance Improvement, and Quality Education.

    3. Ensure accurate and timely data reporting to support clinical decision-making and measure system performance.

    4. Lead a multidisciplinary team of quality professionals, including physician and administrative leaders.

    5. Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technology leaders to integrate improvement efforts across the care continuum.

    6. Promote a culture of excellence through education, training, and adoption of quality science principles.

    7. Serve as a senior liaison to regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with accreditation and reporting requirements.

    8. Represent Arkansas Children’s in local and national pediatric quality collaboratives and integrate best practices.

    9. Partner with the CIO to implement data and technology tools that enhance evidence-based care and improvement tracking.

    10. Other duties as assigned.
