Step into a unit where teamwork, communication, and exceptional organizational skills come together to support high-quality patient care. Our Intermediate Critical Care Unit (ICCU 2) cares for medically complex patients who require close monitoring and coordinated clinical support. As a Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR), you are the central connection point for the unit—helping streamline communication, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations for staff, patients, and families.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with:

• Supporting nurses and providers with timely communication, message routing, and coordination of care

• Serving as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, patient inquiries, and interdepartmental requests

• Managing admissions, transfers, and discharges in the electronic medical record

• Maintaining and preparing essential documents, charts, and patient materials

• Assisting with scheduling tests, procedures, and transport as requested by the care team

• Ensuring supply areas, workstations, and communication tools remain organized and up to date

• Collaborating closely with clinical staff to support patient flow and respond to rapidly changing needs

What We're Looking For

+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

+ Experience: One year experience in healthcare, preferred.

+ Licensure/certification/registration: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.

+ Additional skills preferred: Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service behaviors.
