WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Bridge Inspection Regional TEC Lead** for our Mountain/Pacific Region.
Your Impact
+ Develop and implement Business Development plans for bridge and other infrastructure inspection projects in addition to working on a variety of structural engineering projects with a focus on transportation structures.
+ Responsible to obtain and utilize data and client relationships to identify projects and understand the capital programs of clients including the Departments of Transportation and other agencies in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
+ Evaluate the projects and capital programs to identify key pursuits and to plan and implement capture plans.
+ Supported by the department’s senior engineers and managers.
+ Organize business development efforts through active engagement with clients, to help grow our business and marketplace share in the Mountain/Pacific Region.
+ Responsible for project management/project delivery of medium to large sized transportation projects including technical, budget and schedule responsibilities and oversight
+ Responsible for business development (BD) in conjunction with regional BD & marketing staff, by establishing or continuing relationships with various clients in the region to secure backlog and ensure future growth.
+ Serve as Technical Lead for the Local Office TEC Services.
+ Responsible for establishing or continuing previously established relationships with various clients in the region to secure backlog and assure future growth.
+ Management/Review of structural engineering projects including: Scientific evaluation of the condition state, function and load carrying capacity of bridges and their individual components, as compared to their original design state and/or current standards.
+ Projects include bridges of various types and configurations from simple short spans to long span or complex structures and/or Movable bridges and other transportation (vehicular and pedestrian) structural systems.
+ Analysis and load rating of existing bridges (vehicular and rail) and structural systems.
+ Structural Inspection of bridges and transportation structures (vehicular, rail and transit facilities), and the identification and prioritization of repairs.
+ Asset Management review and implementation
+ Preparation and review of technical reports
+ Preparation of qualification packages, technical and cost proposals along with presentations for pursuits
+ Supervision and professional development of local office staff including mentoring, training, coaching and performance reviews
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
+ 12+ years of relevant post education experience in bridge design, construction, inspection or other bridge related work.
+ PE License in at least one of the states in the Mountain/Pacific Region, as defined above.
+ Advanced proficiency with structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
+ Strong working knowledge of relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and the business impact upon the organization.
+ Strong broad-based, hands-on experience in structural engineering with an emphasis on bridge inspection projects/programs, existing familiarity with and relationships with local clients and the ability to manage internal staff.
+ Advanced proficiency with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
+ Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
+ Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.
+ Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, regulators, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.
+ Advanced proficiency with office automation, discipline-specific design software, technology, math principles, physics, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
+ Must be able to pass MVR check.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Familiarity with the AASHTO Element-Level Inspection recording criteria.
+ OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Certified
+ Current FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Training (2-week Bridge Safety Training and/or Refresher courses)
+ Additional FHWA/NHI Training – Tunnel, Fracture Critical, and Ancillary Structures

Compensation:
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $191,340 - $233,860
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
