The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct advanced research activities requiring a high level of expertise in a specialized field of science or learning. This position involves intellectual and varied tasks that demand independent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills.

Salary: W ill be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience .
Schedule: Full-time
+ This position may require travel.
+ This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.

Required education and experience
+ Appropriate PhD. in biochemistry, cell biology, or genetics.
Preferred qualifications
+ Excellent ability in yeast genetics, cell biology and fluorescence spectroscopic methods for quantifying ligand binding affinities.
+ Familiarity with sterol binding protein biology in yeast.
+ Outstanding analytical skills including in western blotting, RT-PCR and ELISA.
+ Organized and hard-working person who performs to a high standard.
+ Excellent ability in yeast genetics and cell biology.
+ Familiarity with vps74/GOLPH3 biology in yeast.
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
Research
+ Performs genetic and cell biological experiments in yeast, participation in developing and characterizing new yeast models for studying novel lipid signaling pathways.
Lab Specific Duties
+ Technical, work cooperatively with others, verbal communications, written communications, analytical skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, problem solving, detail oriented, Cell Biology and Genetics.
+ General lab duties.
Mentoring
+ May assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on research related to the project.
Presentation
+ Prepare research presentation materials.
