Job Title: CNC Machinist - Lathe

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to produce precision components for advanced medical imaging equipment. This role requires hands-on expertise in CNC lathe operation, setup, troubleshooting, and quality assurance in a regulated, small-batch manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

+ Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to manufacture components to tight tolerances, following blueprints and engineering specifications.

+ Review and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and process sheets to plan machining operations.

+ Select and secure tooling, fixtures, and materials; verify machine offsets and make adjustments as needed.

+ Monitor feeds, speeds, and coolant flow, making real-time adjustments to optimize part quality and machine performance.

+ Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to ensure conformance to specifications.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including editing G and M codes and collaborating with engineering and quality teams.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of CNC lathe machining experience, preferably in a regulated or medical device environment.

+ Proficiency with blueprint reading, setup, and operation of multi-axis CNC lathes (e.g., IKEGAI, Haas, Mazak, Fanuc).

+ Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

+ Experience with various tools and processes including Mastercam, G code, blueprint reading, and machine setup.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $37.00/hr.
