    Job Title: Chief Test Engineer** **Job Description

     

    The Chief Test Engineer will be responsible for the development of Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) to conduct work on Ships Systems per Ship Alt Technical Work Documents (TWDs) and ensure that work boundaries are safely isolated and tagged out in accordance with the Tagout Users Manual (TUM). The role involves assembling and certifying work instructions as disseminated by engineering and maintaining the 7G liability database used to track completion and certification of work.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) for work on Ships Systems following Ship Alt Technical Work Documents (TWDs).

    + Ensure work boundaries are safely isolated and tagged out according to the Tagout Users Manual (TUM).

    + Assemble and certify work instructions based on engineering dissemination.

    + Maintain the 7G liability database for tracking work completion and certification.

    + Possess a thorough understanding of submarine systems, including electrical, piping, ventilation, and mechanical components.

    + Participate in Readiness to Start preparations and develop a test integration program for safe testing onboard nuclear submarines.

    + Coordinate and execute testing safely with Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard C/246 and Ship’s Force personnel.

    + Ensure all work and testing adhere to ship’s drawings, work procedures, and company policies.

    + Understand the ship’s force chain of command for testing requiring special authorization.

    + Supervise up to 5 employees regularly, with potential for more during intense testing periods.

    + Maintain qualifications and identify required training to ensure safe and compliant work onboard ships.

    + Willingness to travel and support overtime work, including weekends.

    Essential Skills

    + Good understanding of submarine systems, including electrical, piping, ventilation, and mechanical components.

    + Familiarity with the SUBSAFE program and the ability to learn DSS-SOC & FBW-SFCC programs.

    + Experience with test equipment and test engineering.

    + Ability to work with engineering teams and maintain databases.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Understanding of ship’s force chain of command for testing requiring special authorization.

    + Experience in supervising employees during testing processes.

    + Willingness to travel and work overtime, including weekends.

    + Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and EB procedures.

    Work Environment

    Work will be conducted on ships, submarines, and within a warehouse setting. The role requires a hands-on approach with various ship systems and the opportunity to work in dynamic naval environments.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Honolulu, HI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
