    Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our 2nd shift to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery. This role requires expertise in both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, as well as welding and fabrication capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct mechanical troubleshooting with gears, pulleys, bearings, motors, conveyors, skid steers, and hi-los.

    + Perform electrical troubleshooting, including dealing with VFDs, motors, and basic electrical systems.

    + Engage in welding and fabrication tasks to maintain and repair equipment.

    + Troubleshoot 480 Volt systems and PLCs to ensure operational efficiency.

    + Work on preventive maintenance and projects, especially on Fridays.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience in mechanical troubleshooting involving gears, conveyor systems, motors, and belts.

    + Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including reading electrical prints and working with VFDs and PLCs.

    + Welding and fabrication.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with shredding machines is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a large warehouse with a dusty and dirty atmosphere, involving shredded paper and pellets. It is not temperature controlled. The 2nd shift runs from 3 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday to Thursday, with additional hours on Friday dedicated to preventive maintenance and projects. There is flexibility within an hour for shift start and end times.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Byron Center, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
