    Job Title: CNC Machinist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will operate and set up CNC Mills, focusing on producing high-quality parts for a variety of industries, including Agricultural, Industrial, Municipal, Rental, and Mining sectors. The role involves loading programs, setting up machines with the necessary tooling and materials, aligning machines to the correct starting positions, and inspecting finished parts for accuracy and tolerance. This position operates during the swing shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with training provided on the day shift.

    Responsibilities

    + Load programs and set up CNC machines, including the installation of tooling and materials.

    + Align machines to the correct starting location based on part specifications.

    + Inspect finished parts for tolerance and accuracy, deburring and cleaning parts as necessary.

    + Work from a computer-based schedule or verbal instructions from production control.

    + Study blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and setup requirements.

    + Utilize measuring tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers to control machining operations.

    + Select, align, and secure holding fixtures and cutting tools on machines.

    + Calculate and set controls for machining factors like speed, feed, and coolant flow.

    + Verify the conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.

    + Perform basic maintenance on machines and report any issues.

    + Grind and sharpen tooling as needed.

    + Create and update setup sheets for new or existing jobs.

    + Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining problems.

    + Maintain a clean and debris-free work area.

    + Operate forklifts, cranes, and other lifting devices as required.

    + Follow all safety precautions and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with CNC machine setups and operations, particularly 3-5 axis CNC Mills.

    + Proficiency in basic G & M Code and blueprint reading.

    + Familiarity with CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, and Mazak (Horizontal Center Nexus -11).

    + Experience with 360 pallet changes and rigging parts.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong communication and retention skills.

    + Experience in a manufacturing environment.

    Work Environment

     

    Our clean and organized production facility has been manufacturing pumps since 1946 in the Portland area. We prioritize safety and quality in our industrial manufacturing environment, producing pumps for a wide range of applications. The dress code is safety-focused, requiring personal protective equipment when necessary.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
