We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Floor Technician who will play an integral role in preparing prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of pharmacy practice.
Responsibilities
+ Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
+ Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose of them as per procedure.
+ Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them as needed during low volume times.
+ Manually package materials and products.
+ Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas, and prepack racks.
+ Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.
+ Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.
+ Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed.
+ Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
+ Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required and/or expected.
+ Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Retail pharmacy experience.
+ Data entry proficiency.
+ Pharmacy technician license and certification.
+ Ability to work at a moderate speed.
+ Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Possess and maintain a clear and active Pharmacy Technician License issued by the MD Board of Pharmacy.
+ Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
Work Environment
This role is based in a pharmacy environment where you may sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the day. You may be required to sit or stand for seven to ten hours per day and work extended hours as needed. The role requires finger dexterity for operating office equipment and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. You must have visual acuity for reading fine print, specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. You should be able to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of the role.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
