    Job Title: Entry Level Engineer

    Job Description

    An Associate Professional - Staff Engineer in the Overland Park, KS office will perform various activities related to environmental consulting. You will be a quick learner, motivated, eager to learn, embrace teamwork, and have the desire to develop professionally. Project responsibility will have a primary focus on civil/environmental services, landfills and landfill infrastructure, composting, and other projects that may require design, engineering, permitting, construction and operations support

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares and reviews engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.

    • Follow directions of Project Manager that meet both client and company expectations

    • Apply knowledge based on engineering or scientific problems and methods, review plans and assist in coordinating work under the direction of the Project Manager.

    • Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, etc.

    • Office-based tasks including: CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.

    • Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.

    • Travel (20% of travel expected): Typically local, occasionally overnight

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related engineering major required.

    • Professional Engineering license or progress toward a professional engineering license (i.e. E.I.T certification) preferred

    • Competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting. Experience with using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is ideal.

    • Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

    Work Environment

    Will spend 50%-60% of the year working in the field on landfill sites. The other 50%-40% will be in their Overland Park, KS office. Office has cubicles and office spaces (rooms are for Project Managers and higher level Employees).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, KS.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25/hr.
