    Job Title: Quality Control ManagerJob Description

     

    We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee and manage the project’s Quality Control Program in accordance with USACE/NAVFAC or other federal standards. The ideal candidate will manage submittals, RFIs, daily documentation, and all required government reporting while conducting inspections and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure all work meets approved plans and specifications.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct inspections and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure all work meets approved plans and specifications.

    + Maintain digital documentation systems and ensure accurate project records.

    + Collaborate closely with project management, superintendents, client representatives, and third-party inspectors.

    + Prepare daily reports, deficiency logs, and quality-related correspondence.

    + Support safety and compliance initiatives; ensure corrective actions are documented and resolved.

    + Participate in preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.

    + Maintain strong communication across internal teams and government stakeholders.

    Essential Skills

    + EM 385-1-1

    + CQM certification (USACE/NAVFAC or equivalent)

    + 2 years of continuous QCM experience on federal projects

    + Degree in a construction/engineering-related field (e.g., CM, Civil Engineering, Construction Tech, architecture)

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Extensive construction quality experience, preferably on federal projects.

    + Strong understanding of QC processes, compliance, submittals, and documentation workflows.

    + Proficiency with computers and digital systems; ability to learn new software quickly.

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize large volumes of documentation, and work with government-driven requirements.

    + Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in San Diego, with assignments primarily at main San Diego County sites such as Camp Pendleton, Miramar, North Island (Coronado), and Marine Corps Depot (MCRD). The projects typically range from $15M–$100M, including many medical facilities. Candidates should either reside locally or be willing to relocate to San Diego. There will be no surprise long-distance assignments, although future optional growth opportunities exist in other regions like Monterey, China Lake, and 29 Palms if the employee desires.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

     

    Fringe Benefits: Vehicle Allowance, Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits (UnitedHealthcare), Vacation/Sick/Holiday Pay, Bonus eligibility

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Carlsbad,CA.
