    Job Title: Quality Engineer

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic cross-functional team as a Quality Engineer, where you will have the opportunity to dive into customer-specific portals to monitor and address corrective actions. Utilize problem-solving methodologies like 8D, 5Y, and 3-legged 5Y to ensure quality standards are met. Engage in completing PPAPs, depending on the stage of launch, and collaborate closely with customers and suppliers. Be hands-on in production, creating and training on job instructions, and conducting gage RR for products.

    Responsibilities

    + Check corrective actions on customer-specific portals.

    + Problem-solve using 8D, 5Y, or 3-legged 5Y methodologies.

    + Complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAPs) based on launch stage.

    + Collaborate with customers and suppliers for quality assurance.

    + Work hands-on with production to develop and train on job instructions.

    + Conduct gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (RR) for products.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

    + Proficiency in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

    + Experience with root cause and corrective action analysis.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with customers.

    + Automotive industry experience, preferably with Ford.

    + 2-4 years of experience in quality engineering.

    + Familiarity with International Automotive Task Force (IATF) standards.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Automotive launch experience.

    + Knowledge in tube bending, fabrication, cold forming, tube forming, swaging, end forming, piercing, tube welding, assembly stamping, and brazing.

    + CMM programming skills.

    + Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.

    + Experience with audits.

    Work Environment

    You will report to the current Quality Manager within a department that includes two Quality Engineers, two Quality Technicians, and one Quality Systems person. Enjoy a flexible work environment with hours typically from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility on start times if needed. The position is based in a smaller manufacturing shop situated in a rural area, specializing in the production of aftermarket automotive parts and lines for OEMs.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farwell, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.87/hr.
