Job Title: CAM ProgrammerJob Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Technician with strong CAD/CAM experience to support our engineering and manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will assist in creating, modifying, and optimizing designs and programs for CNC machining and other automated manufacturing processes. This role requires technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to set up and program new thermoforming, vacuum forming, and compression molding equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Create, modify, and optimize designs and programs for CNC machining.
+ Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to set up and program new thermoforming, vacuum forming, and compression molding equipment.
+ Monitor manufacturing equipment and systems according to established procedures.
+ Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery to minimize downtime.
+ Inspect products for quality compliance and report any deviations or defects.
+ Document production data, including output, downtime, and maintenance activities.
+ Assist in process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
+ Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
+ Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve technical issues.
+ Support training of new team members on equipment and processes.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience with CAD/CAM, specifically Fusion 360.
+ Experience in setting up new programming equipment.
+ Familiarity with programming, CNC operations, CNC trimming, and G codes.
+ Proficiency in using shop bot and converting models from CREO/Fusion 360 to CNC code.
+ Strong engineering, troubleshooting, and testing skills.
+ Knowledge of rotating equipment, compression molding, and compression systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to monitor manufacturing equipment and systems.
+ Experience in performing routine maintenance and minor repairs.
+ Skills in product inspection for quality compliance.
+ Experience in process improvement initiatives.
+ Collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and supervisors.
+ Ability to support training of new team members.
Work Environment
The candidate will work in an office environment 20% of the time, and 80% on the floor working alongside the Manufacturing Engineer. The role involves working in a fast-paced setting with opportunities for direct employment after six months.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tomball, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
