Description
Robert Half is seeking an experienced ERISA Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to attorneys on matters involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). This paralegal will play a crucial role in managing complex litigation related to employee benefits, retirement plans, fiduciary duties, and claims administration.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assist attorneys with all aspects of ERISA litigation, including the preparation of pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other court documents.
+ Conduct legal research on ERISA statutes, regulations, case law, and related federal and state laws.
+ Organize and manage large volumes of documents and electronic files for cases involving retirement and welfare benefit plans.
+ Summarize depositions, medical records, and plan documents relevant to benefit claims and fiduciary litigation.
+ Coordinate with clients, plan administrators, and third-party vendors to collect and analyze benefits-related records and data.
+ Draft correspondence, case summaries, and reports for attorneys and clients.
+ Assist in preparing for hearings, trials, and settlement conferences, including trial notebooks and exhibit lists.
+ Monitor court deadlines and ensure timely filings.
+ File documents with federal and state courts and manage e-filing systems as needed.
+ Provide support in the resolution of claims and appeals, including tracking case developments and scheduling case management deadlines.
Requirements
+ Associate’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal with a focus on ERISA litigation.
+ In-depth knowledge of ERISA, employee benefits law, and federal court procedures.
+ Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
+ Proficient with legal research tools, e-discovery platforms, and Microsoft Office suite.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
