Maintenance Carpenter (2nd shift)

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Carpenter (2pm-9:30pm). This position involves the responsibility for efficient and workman-like performance of a variety of carpentry and cabinet-making tasks requiring good knowledge of the trade. Interested applicants must have a thorough knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology, accident precautions and the ability to work from plans and specifications. A strong knowledge of masonry work and repair is preferred.
Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:
+ Repairs cabinets, desks, chairs, tables and other similar equipment;
+ Repairs to doors, windows, floors, stair rails;
+ Constructs and installs cabinets, book cases, shelves, closets, etc.;
+ Builds forms for concrete work;
+ Operates woodworking machinery such as lathes, planers, jigsaws, etc.;
+ May perform other maintenance tasks such as painting, minor plumbing masonry or electrical repairs, etc.:
+ Does related work as required

Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
+ One year of experience as a journeyman carpenter
+ Ability to understand oral and written directions and mechanical aptitude
+ Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
