• Legal Assistant/Paralegal County Attorney

    ### Job Duties

    Under general supervision and at the direction of attorneys, performs support work involving the knowledge and application of specialized procedures, statutes, regulations, and records pertaining to the Office of the County Attorney. Ensures that attorneys have the materials required for all court hearings, i.e pleadings, evidence and discovery disclosed. This particular position will also perform as a back up to the reception desk, answering phone, distributing mail and assisting any individuals at the counter. Performs tasks with minimal supervision and periodic review. Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

     

    ### Minimum Education Required

    Legal Assistant:

    Associate’s degree from an accredited college in legal studies, paralegal studies, criminal justice, or closely related field.

    OR

    A combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

    Paralegal:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in legal studies, paralegal studies, criminal justice, or related field.

    OR

    Associate’s degree from an accredited college in legal studies, paralegal studies, criminal justice, or related field and two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

    OR

    A combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

     

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    Legal Assistant:

    Associate’s degree from an accredited college in legal studies, paralegal studies, criminal justice, or closely related field.

    OR

    A combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

    Paralegal:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in legal studies, paralegal studies, criminal justice, or related field.

    OR

    Associate’s degree from an accredited college in legal studies, paralegal studies, criminal justice, or related field and two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

    OR

    A combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.
