Mid-Level Underground Transmission Drafter
This Opportunity
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently initiating a search for a Underground Transmission Drafter or our Hailey, Idaho office. Be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Hailey Overhead Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
Takes part in providing technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines. Responsibilities involve generating CADD designs on various assigned projects of moderate scale and/or complexity. Generates accurate and concise design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications, and material lists. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.
Your Impact
Job Responsibilities
+ The successful candidate will work with underground transmission line engineers and drafters to complete the following activities:
+ Working with engineers and other drafters in the creation of construction drawings for underground transmission lines including: plan and profile drawings, detail drawings, cover sheet, and notes.
+ Performing quality assurance checks on construction drawings
+ Collaborating in both in-person meetings and virtual conference calls
+ Organizing projects and their subsequent files and documents in ProjectWise
+ Experience opportunities can include field visits and coordination with contractors and clients
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required education/Experience:
+ High School Diploma
+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
+ Strong experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation
+ Experience with drawing creation for Power Delivery (transmission, substation, distribution)
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Desired Education/Experience:
+ Associates Degree
+ 3 or more years drafting experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
+ Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems
+ Experience interpreting surveys
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Strong written and oral communications skills
