    Intelligent Design Engineer

     

    This Opportunity

     

    POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently initiating a search for a Intelligent Design Engineer for our Denver office. The following locations will also be considered: Hybrid/Remote. Be involved in projects with our AUS Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

     

    Provides advanced modelling support to multidisciplinary teams engaged in the design and delivery of infrastructure and building projects. Leads the production and coordination of Building Information Modelling (BIM) outputs for design packages and construction documentation. Supports the application of BIM standards and best practices to ensure the accuracy and quality of project models and drawings. Assists with team mentorship, model integration, and issue resolution, contributing to the efficient execution of digital project deliverables and effective interdisciplinary collaboration.

     

    Your Impact

    The Intelligent Design Engineer will have the following roles and responsibilities:

    + Support team members in completing Intelligent Design/Graphic Work Design implementations through requirement gathering, system design, testing, training, deployment support

    + Work directly with clients and internal resources to lead the development of integrations for GIS and Enterprise applications (i.e., WMS, Document/File Management) with Intelligent Design solutions

    + Provide high quality (and timely) written and oral communications both internally and with clients

    + Proficient in working as part of a team, advising, and mentoring technical team members in utility knowledge, demonstrates patience and a desire to share knowledge

    + Proficient in working with clients by preparing and presenting virtual and in-person workshops, creating, and providing training, demonstrating constructive communication skills to elicit feedback, tactfully asking probing questions to gain further insight and guide team members to a successful project outcome

    + Has the ability, or is willing to learn, how to work with our clients to develop long term relationships and facilitate additional business

    + Interface with and support company Project Managers on proposals, project work, resource allocations and personnel

    + Up to 25% travel will be required

    + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

    + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

     

    Who You Are

    Required Education/Experience:

    The Intelligent Design Engineer must have the following education, experience, skills, and knowledge:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Minimum of 9 years of relevant post-education experience in a related job capacity.

    + 3+ years of experience working with utility data and data modeling (electric, gas, water, wastewater, stormwater, fiber).

    + Experience viewing, creating, and configuring utility GIS data

    + Experience with performing GIS data migration and transformation utilizing standard tools (Esri Data Loading Tools, FME, Append, etc) and custom scripts (Python, SQL)

    + Experience with data integration including importing data from spreadsheets, databases, and geodatabases.

    + 3+ years of experience with Microsoft’s office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

    + Requires excellent communication and organizational skills

    + Requires excellent problem-solving skills

    + Requires strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules

    + Must have project implementation lifecycle experience (Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Training, and Deployment)

    + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

    Desired Education/Experience:

    + Associates Degree

    + Experience with Intelligent Design/Graphic Work Design Software: Spatial Business Solutions (SBS) software (AUD, UDH, Model Map, etc.) GSI Digital Design Suite, Schneider ArcFM Designer

    + Experience with Safe Software's FME including the development of custom ETL tools

    + Experience with Esri ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps etc.)

    + Experience with Schneider Electric’s ArcFM Product Suite

    + Experience with or knowledge of engineering modeling tools (Milsoft, Spidacalc, Osmose)

    + Experience with migrating data between different platforms

    + Knowledge of SCADA, ADMS, and OMS

    + Knowledge of Work Management Systems

    + Familiar with the work processes of utilities and the ability to document processes using Microsoft Visio and/or Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect

    Base Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

     

    The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
