The Avionics industry is entering into a new exciting age of Urban Air Mobility and Autonomous Flight.
Be part of a team that will lead the way in this market by developing new compact and lightweight Next Generation Traffic and Airborne Surveillance Avionics that will be used on a wide variety of aircraft platforms, from Air Transport and Business Jets to Urban Air Mobility (UAM) / Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). You will help create breakthrough innovations that will ensure Honeywell’s leadership position in this space.
**As a Sr Advanced Hardware Systems Engineer** within our TCAS (Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System) and Transponder Product Team, you will play a critical role in the design, development and implementation of advanced avionics system solutions that will meet the long-term evolving needs of our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding design and hardware systems development, ensuring that design specifications and testing requirements are met, and guiding the process from concept to certification.
You will have ownership for hardware systems development at every aspect of the systems life cycle, where your expertise will influence the design and development of cutting-edge hardware solutions that keep aircraft safely navigating our skies. You will have the opportunity to work on next-generation, legacy and new product development projects, directly contributing to the advancement of aviation technology in the Airborne Traffic, Collision Avoidance & Surveillance Avionics space.
+ Lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure cohesive development efforts and a shared understanding of system requirements.
+ Collaborate with design engineers to communicate specifications and provide guidance throughout the hardware development process.
+ Engage with customers to lead discussions, understand needs, and gather insights that inform product development
+ Develop and improve engineering practices to ensure all hardware and system components meet our rigorous quality standards
+ Standards application and improvements
+ Project management
+ Oversight of Hardware Qualification testing
+ Issue Resolution: Tackle challenges head-on by identifying and resolving unexpected issues during design, development, and testing.
+ Develop and/or manage testing procedures, hardware plans, verification & validation procedures
+ Review process and product quality
+ Support product certification efforts
+ Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices related to hardware development and TCAS technology

YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware development, electrical and/or system engineering
WE VALUE
+ Deep understanding of a variety of hardware engineering standards and specifications _(DO-254 and DO-160 is of value)_
+ Master's Degree or advanced professional certification
+ Experience in similar product domains is a PLUS i.e. Avionics, Navigation and/or Integrated Surveillance (TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT)
+ Expert knowledge of product and process technologies OR broad knowledge of multiple product and process technologies
+ Experience with providing engineering estimations for new developments
+ Experience with resolving factory related issues and customer returns
+ Experience with oversight of Hardware Qualification testing
+ Familiar with FAA certification processes is of value.
+ Ability to communicate project status and technical concepts with Management and Customers
+ Ability to consistently demonstrate business impact and continuous drive for improvement
+ Ability to influence customers and cross-functional teams to deliver optimal outcomes
+ Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness in an ambiguous environment
+ Strong influence skills
