About the Role:
The HIL - Sales Route Driver plays a critical role in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to customers across assigned routes within the United States. This position combines driving expertise with customer service skills to maintain strong client relationships and support sales objectives. The driver is responsible for managing inventory, handling transactions, and providing product knowledge to customers during deliveries. Success in this role directly impacts customer satisfaction, retention, and overall company revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and motivated to represent the company professionally while meeting daily route goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
+ Proven experience in a delivery or route driver role, preferably in sales or distribution.
+ Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds safely.
+ Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse clients.
+ Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience using handheld devices or mobile apps for route navigation and order processing.
+ Familiarity with the products being delivered or sales experience in a related industry.
+ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or equivalent endorsements, if applicable.
+ Knowledge of local and regional geography to optimize delivery routes.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
Responsibilities:
+ Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver products to customers on a scheduled route.
+ Load and unload merchandise, ensuring accuracy and proper handling to prevent damage.
+ Engage with customers to provide product information, answer questions, and process sales transactions.
+ Maintain accurate delivery records, including invoices, receipts, and inventory logs.
+ Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
+ Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations during deliveries.
+ Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding route progress and any delivery challenges.
