    PDS Tech Commercial is hiring **Mechanical Assemblers** to support a leading aerospace manufacturer in **Lenexa, KS (66219)** . This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your craftsmanship directly contributes to the safety and reliability of aerospace life-support systems.     **Job Type:** Full-Time | Consultant (6 months; Contract-to-Hire potential)

    **Pay Rate:** $19–$21 per hour

    **Location:** Lenexa, KS

    Schedule:

    + **4x10 schedule, Monday–Thursday** (overtime as needed, including mandatory Saturdays when required)

    + **1st Shift:** 5:00am–3:30pm OR 6:00am–4:30pm (must be open to both)

    + **2nd Shift:** 2:30pm–11:00pm (training may begin on 1st shift; all contractors start Day 1 at 6:15am)

     

    About the Role

     

    As a Mechanical Assembler I, you will work in a clean, safety-focused environment assembling high-pressure oxygen cylinders—components critical to aerospace safety and performance. You’ll complete repetitive, highly detailed work that ensures every product meets rigorous quality and reliability standards.

     

    Your craftsmanship keeps global aerospace operations safe—and your impact will be felt every day.

    What You’ll Do

    + **Precision Mechanical Assembly:** Use torque wrenches, crowfoot wrenches, Allen wrenches, and other hand tools.

    + **Accurate Measurement:** Use calipers, micrometers, rulers, and other measuring tools to verify specifications.

    + **Follow Technical Instructions:** Work from blueprints, operation sheets, and detailed written procedures.

    + **Adjust Processes:** Make equipment adjustments based on test results and process knowledge.

    + **Testing & Recording:** Perform oxygen purity and moisture testing; document gauge readings and results.

    + **Maintain Clean & Safe Work:** Adhere to PPE and cleanroom standards; prevent contamination and ensure quality.

    + **Quality & Compliance:** Follow all established safety protocols and quality standards.

    + **Additional Duties:** Support the team with related tasks as needed.

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to lift up to **25 lbs**

    + Must be able to stand and work on your feet for **up to 10 hours**

    + Repetitive and single-piece flow work

    Required Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED

    + _OR_ 2 years of relevant mechanical/assembly experience

    + Ability to work assigned shift and required overtime

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise, repetitive workflows **This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.**

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Previous mechanical assembly experience

    + Experience with hand tools, measurement tools, or production environments

    + Comfort working in cleanroom or safety-critical environments

    + Ability to interpret blueprints or technical work instructions
