Responsibilities You will maintain and repair installed electrical systems such as lighting fixtures and wiring, power fixtures and wiring, power sources, and/or services battery packs for emergency power systems. You will locate broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating wiring, fixtures, controls, and equipment through visual checks or through use of a small variety of test equipment. You will make repairs by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering, and insulating defective wiring, controls, equipment, and fixtures. You will plan tasks and determine appropriate steps and actions necessary to complete tasks. You will adhere to the National Electrical Code. Education Additional Information The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption. The employee is required to perform callback overtime. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
