    In this position...

     

    As a 3D Print Technician, you will be responsible for the operating and maintaining 3D print machines and 3D scanning equipment. You will interpret engineering designs, provide feedback on manufacturability, and solve 3d printing challenges. Your expertise in the 3d print process, CAD software, and attention to detail will be essential to creating high-quality prototypes.

     

    What you'll do...

     

    • Read, interpret, and build to blueprints, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings.

    • Proactively track, document, and provide feedback with clear communication to management and engineers on project status and outcomes.

    • Maintain a clean and productive workplace.

    • Operate and maintain a variety of 3D printers, including FDM, MJF, and Polyjet.

    • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of 3D printers to ensure optimal performance.

    • Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables, and materials needed for 3D printer operation.

    • Prepare 3D models for printing, including slicing, orientation, and support generation.

    • Select appropriate printing parameters, such as layer height, infill density, and print speed, based on part requirements.

    • Monitor print progress and make adjustments as needed to ensure successful completion.

    • Remove printed parts from the build platform and perform post-processing, such as support removal, sanding, and painting.

    • Manage inventory of 3D printing materials, including filaments, resins, and powders.

    • Properly store and handle 3D printing materials to maintain their quality and prevent contamination.

    • Inspect printed parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.

    • Use measuring tools and techniques to verify dimensional accuracy of printed parts.

    • Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to understand project requirements.

    • Provide technical support and training to other users of the 3D printing lab.

    • Contribute to the development of new 3D printing applications and processes.

    • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in 3D printing technology.

    • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines when operating 3D printing equipment.

     

    You'll have...

     

    • 3+ years 3D printing experience.

    • Ability to create and modify CAD models

    • Experience with a variety of 3D printing technologies (e.g., FDM, MJF, PolyJet).

    • Experience with 3D modeling software and slicing software.

    • High attention to detail and organization.

    • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as individually.

    • Physical job requirements:

    o Ability to lift 50-70lbs.

    o Stand for long periods of time, bend or twist body, kneel, stoop, or crouch.

     

    Even better, you may have...

     

    • Experience operating 3D scanning equipment.

    • Experience with Stratasys and HP equipment.

    • Experience with post-processing techniques, such as sanding, painting, and coating.

    This position is a salary grade 6.
