    Location Description

    Hopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character.     Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The IT Systems Associate in an entry level Systems team position that will manage and maintain IT and OT systems for Michael Foods. This position performs basic system administration and monitoring for IT and OT systems and supporting infrastructure used at Michael Foods. The IT Systems Associate is also responsible for limited facilities management of on-premise data center requirements. The candidate will provide support related to operating systems, security, monitoring, hardware, software, patch management, configuration management and hardware installations working with IT Systems Team Engineering and Administrator members.

     

    This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide support related to operating systems, security, monitoring, hardware, software, patch management, configuration management and hardware installations working with Administrator and Engineering Systems team members

    • Perform routine updates, patches, and upgrades to Windows operating systems and other software

    • Provide Security and access privileges to data and applications while maintaining audit compliance

    • Testing, implementation and understanding of new patches and security updates

    • Troubleshoot and document problems in an effective and timely manner

    • Prioritize work-load based on the severity of issue and customer need

    • Record, track and document issues from initiation through resolution and keep internal management and internal customers updated throughout the process

    • Ensure consistency of tools, standards, security and metrics and follow documented Production Change Request process

    • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps

    • This position will be supporting business and IT applications as well as operational support, problem determination and resolution, and general support of the application team groups.

    • Adherence to company policies and procedures

    • 24x7 On-call support team rotation responsibilities

    • Management of Generator and UPS data center facilities

    • Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.

    • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.

    • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

    • 3+ years of experience in an IT production environment is required

    • 3+ years of Windows support in a desktop or server environment is required

    • 3+ years of Active Directory and user permissions is required

    • Unix/Linux or Windows server experience is a plus

    • Basic understanding of network configurations is a plus

    • Backup and recovery administration experience (Commvault preferred) is a plus

    • Experience with network monitoring tools a plus

    • Proven problem solving, and interpersonal skills required

    • Ability to learn new IT skills quickly

    • General knowledge of Data Center environment including generator, transfer switch, UPS, air conditioners, and monitoring of these systems a plus.

    • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage time effectivel

     

    The pay range for this position is $70,386 - $98,541 per year.
