    Job Description:

    Job Overview

     

    The Shop Floor Optimizer owns **daily order release and short-term sequencing** , ensuring production orders flow smoothly from planning into execution. This role operates at the **operational horizon (daily/shift-level focus)** , releasing orders, preparing packets, and coordinating with shop floor teams to enable on time completion. The Shop Floor Optimizer is the last-mile owner, bridging the MPS with real-time plant realities (materials, labor, machine status).

    Job Requirements

    + Review production orders and release them to the shop floor once clear to build, following the defined release process at the plant

    + Prepare and distribute order packets (routing sheets, traveler documents, work instructions, and quality paperwork)

    + Monitor shop floor progress and update SAP with the order status from release of the production order to parts going to stock

    + Communicate with supervisors to ensure schedule attainment and resolve real-time disruptions

    + Escalate shortages, delays, or bottlenecks to Planners and Buyers

    + Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce delays, improve schedule adherence, and simplify release process

    + Monitor and release available inventory not processed by daily batch runs

    What your background should look like

    + Prior scheduling experience is not required — we’ll provide the training and support to help you succeed

    + Familiarity with ERP/MRP or shop floor systems (SAP) is a plus

    + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    + Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with shop floor teams and cross-functional partners

    + Must be a hard worker, team player, and result-driven individual who wants to learn and grow

    + Degree in supply chain, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field preferred

    + Equivalent relevant experience in manufacturing, production control, materials management, or related areas will be considered in place of a degree

    COMPENSATION

    • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $53,800- $80,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

    • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

    • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
