    Position Overview: Schedules office and hospital-based medical procedures for patients with an appropriate provider and time/location slot, utilizing the appropriate Allscripts Practice Management (PM) scheduling code.

     

    Referral Management, tracking, processing referrals.

    + Monday: 7:30am-4:45pm

    + Friday: 7:30am-12:30pm

    Key Responsibilities:

    Surgery Management: Receives surgery orders and other pertinent documentation from health system surgical practices. Enters all pertinent data into electronic systems. Schedules surgeries in collaboration with health system admissions, OR and billing departments. Works closely with patients on all notifications for timing and preparations for scheduled surgery. Maintains analytical data on all surgeries scheduled.

     

    Referral Management: Process incoming referrals in accordance with clinic protocols. Track referral status and follow up with outside offices to ensure timely scheduling and completion. Maintain accurate referral documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Communicate referral details and appointment information to patients and providers.

    Qualifications

    Required:Two year degree in the arts or sciences. Knowledge of medical terminology. 1–2 years of medical administration experience. Demonstrated ability to establish strong professional relationships. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

     

    Preferred: Baccalarueate degree
