    Job Description

    The Role:

    The  **Human Factors** **Screens & Virtual Controls Engineer** is a part of the Human Interface Design organization, responsible for ensuring intuitive **in-vehicle screen customer interactions** . This role focuses on evaluating digital control interfaces throughout the UI screen **design development** process and supports continuous improvements to existing Operating Systems. This role advocates for customer usability, applies Human Factors criteria to screen based controls and leverages user data analysis to inform design decisions. Success in this position requires strong collaboration across Design, Product, Program Management and Quality teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering a **user** **focused experience** and has a solid foundation in Human Factors and UI principles.

    What You'll Do:

    + Review UIscreendesignsin **Figma** acrossOperating Systems andprioritized domainstoperformHuman Factorsevaluationsthroughout design deliverable gates.

    + Translate evaluation findings into **actionable design recommendations** that enhancecustomer usability and shapethe in-vehicle screenand virtual control experience.

    + Partner closely with UI Designers to proactively apply Human Factors Best Practices, Design Systems and Control Strategy Plan adhering toknownautomotive safety standards and regulatory guidance.

    + Provideand synthesize **customer** **data** , including lessons learned,tosupportDesign rationale& Product Management roadmaps,strategiesand Product Requirement Documents (PRD).

    + Request and coordinate customer clinics or surveys collaborating with Human Factors Usability, Design Research and GlobalCustomerResearchteamstogather customer insights when needed.

    + Participate inregular **Vehicle** **Operating System** **Design review** meetingscontributing todiscussions anddecisionswhile focusing oncustomerusabilityand intuitive interaction.

    + Engagein Program Management analysis meetingsand ensureaccuratetracking of Human Factors recommendations in **Jira** **capability** and design tickets.

    + CommunicateissueswithinHuman Factors Triage, Escalation and Director meetingsto driveresolution.

    + Serve as the liaison for Human Factors **Vehicle Programs** by providing status updates on customer reach andvisibilityofin-screen control content.

    Your Skills & Abilities Needed (Qualifications):

    + Bachelor’s degree in HumanFactors, User Experiencedesign,Engineeringor related field

    + 3+ years of experience in Human Factors, HMIdesignor User Experience

    + Strong understanding of **human factors principles** and **automotive HMI design**

    + Ability to **translate user research into actionable design requirements**

    + Proficiencyin **problem-solving** with excellent **verbal, written,** and visual communication skills

    + Demonstrate **strong interpersonal skills** with the ability to partnerwith **cross-functional teams** and leaddiscussions

    What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

    + Master’s degree

    + Experience with **Figma** or similar design tools

    + Proficiencyin **Jira** for tracking tasks and supporting workflow documentation

    + Hands on experienceusingNX orTcVIS

    + Knowledge ofautomotive HMI standards including ISO,SAEand FMVSS
