Aspirus Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI is seeking a Quality Improvement Coordinator to join our team!

The Quality Improvement Coordinator for the Howard Young Medical Center and the North Division Hospitals support the quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management philosophy, policies, and priorities of Aspirus. They maintain a working knowledge of current trends and issues in healthcare quality to include performance improvement, population health, health data analytics, patient safety, and regulatory and accreditation.

HOURS: Full-time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period. Day shift. Typical work schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm

Experience/Qualifications

+ Knowledge of patient care standards and practices is normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

+ Successful completion of Health Care Quality Certification exam (CPHQ) and additional education in TQM, CQI, productivity management and basic statistics beneficial.

+ A minimum of three years’ acute care hospital experience.

+ Experience in data collection methodologies, data analysis and display, and demonstrated ability to plan, organize, set, and accomplish objectives necessary to enhance and develop skills.

+ Demonstrated ability in development and implementation of a clinical study, experience in program design and educational presentations, and experience as a practitioner in the field of healthcare quality management, quality assurance, medical reviews and chart abstracting beneficial.

+ Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.

+ Possesses working knowledge and application of Performance Improvement philosophy and tools, Joint Commission standards and Peer Review Process.

+ Possesses a broad knowledge of medical and nursing patient care management and medical record management.

+ Demonstrated understanding of personal computers and information systems, applications, and interfaces.

Howard Young Medical Center is an acute care facility located in Woodruff that provides a level of primary and specialty care not commonly found in a typical rural hospital. Built in 1977 the hospital traces its roots to the founding of Lakeland Memorial Hospital in the 1950s and provides care to residents across northern Wisconsin that includes Oneida, Vilas, and Iron counties.
