    Job Duties:

    Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or

    transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or

     

    sprayer machinery. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and

     

    diseases, using hand sprayers. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.

     

    Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used

     

    in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Maintain farm machinery and

     

    notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or

     

    harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines

     

    with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks. Direct and monitor the

     

    activities of work crews engaged in planting, weeding, or harvesting activities. Operate towed machines such

     

    as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. Weigh crop-filled containers, and

     

    record weights and other identifying information. Walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting

     

    plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm

     

    workers. Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten

     

    products. Position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch products, removing and

     

    closing full containers. Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops.

     

    Drive and operate self-propelled combine.

    ### Minimum Education Required

    No High School Diploma or GED required. Workers must be able to speak English.

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers' expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid driver's license.

    EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

     

    Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
