Summary About the Position: The position provides both technical and administrative supervision for the Railroad Maintenance Vehicle Operators, carrying full supervisory authority. Responsibilities Serve as a supervisor over the Railroad Trackage Section to approximately 25 subordinate workers. Perform full supervisory responsibility overseeing and directing work operations. Determine the equipment and supplies needed for each work site. Develop performance requirements and make formal and informal performance appraisals. Schedule and approval of leave for subordinates. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Railroad Maintenance Vehicle Operator Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Assist with planning and training, provide mentorship with other employees and operate basic railway equipment. Ability to Lead or Supervise Ability to Operate Safely (Non-motor Vehicles) Ability to Plan and Organize Work Operation of Motor Vehicles Performance Management Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Transportation and Distribution Management Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
