Position Description:

This will be a internship to assist with the Site Purchasing team. The position will support various projects and activities within the team related to:

+ Supplier Delivery Precision analysis

+ Support with Critical supplier issues

+ Direct Material costing support

+ Supplier relationship support

+ Research supplier invoice discrepancies versus VCE established pricing, document and take appropriate actions with the supplier and Commodity managers as required.

+ Supplier relationship support

+ Send out RFQ’s to approved suppliers

+ Place production and prototype orders with approved suppliers

+ Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, and the Volvo values and behaviors

The candidate should possess the following skills, experience and knowledge:

+ Strong coordination and organization skills

+ PC-literate (including Office Outlook and other MS Office programs)

+ Maturity and ability to work independently with minimum supervision

+ Diplomacy and discretion required

+ Flexibility and availability

+ Pro-activity

+ Systematic and committed

+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills and cultural understanding

Qualifications:

+ Must be enrolled in a degree program related to Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials Movement/Management, Purchasing, Contracts Management, Business Administration, or a similar field at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies.

+ Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75

+ Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
