Description We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. This is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity, offering a strong pathway to a long-term position following a 6–8 week evaluation period. The ideal candidate will assist with payroll processing and accounts payable functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee data, hours worked, deductions, and tax reporting.

• Collaborate with payroll service providers to manage tax filings and compliance-related tasks.

• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies using analytical skills to maintain data integrity.

• Handle accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, coding, and vendor payments.

• Perform reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records within accounting systems.

• Work closely with team members to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to payroll and accounts payable.

• Support audits and reporting requirements by providing organized and accurate documentation.

• Assist in onboarding new processes or tools related to payroll and accounts payable functions. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll, accounts payable, or a related accounting role.

• Proficiency in using payroll and accounting software, with experience in Foundation Software preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Familiarity with multi-state payroll processes and compliance standards.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new systems and procedures.

• Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

• Experience managing payroll for 101–500 employees is a plus.
