Job Description
As an Analysis Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and processing customer-returned equipment for repair or exchange. You will perform component-level diagnostics to identify failures and compare them with customer-reported issues. Your expertise will be essential in executing rework, modifications, updates, and realignments to restore equipment functionality. Additionally, you will prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approvals when necessary, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot and process customer-returned equipment for repair or exchange.
+ Perform component-level diagnostics to identify failures and compare with customer-reported issues.
+ Execute rework, modifications, updates, and realignments to restore equipment functionality.
+ Prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approvals when necessary.
+ Validate and document corrective actions taken during repair processes.
+ Conduct functional testing to ensure equipment meets performance specifications.
+ Inspect completed repairs for compliance with industry and workmanship standards.
+ Record failure codes and repair details on service documentation.
+ Identify and report product or procedural issues to the Supervisor.
+ Address service and reliability concerns as they arise.
+ Initiate Engineering Action Requests (EAR) to recommend design or process improvements.
+ Communicate technical issues clearly to both internal teams and external customers.
+ Provide backup support to the Lead Technician as needed.
+ Participate in all other assigned job responsibilities.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in technical troubleshooting and/or manufacturing/SMT environments.
+ Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Technical School Certificate, or equivalent education/experience.
+ Understanding of basic electronics and advanced troubleshooting skills across a variety of electronic products.
+ Excellent soldering skills, including fine-pitch removal and replacement of complex surface mount components.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Windows and related applications.
+ Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and schematic diagrams.
+ Skilled in the use of common hand tools and electronic test equipment.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Comfortable operating a personal computer and navigating company systems.
Work Environment
The position requires working in a technical environment where you will use various electronic test equipment and hand tools. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Windows and related applications, with strong communication skills to engage with both internal teams and external customers. The role demands an independent working style with minimal supervision, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance with industry standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.79 - $37.02/hr.
