• Field Engineer

    Actalent (Cornelius, NC)


    This role provides engineering expertise to the Technical Services department with a focus on consumer products. It requires strong technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to manage and complete assignments that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction. The position involves significant travel—approximately 50% of time onsite with customers, typically home on weekends.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Field Investigations & Product Evaluation

    + Conduct technically sound field investigations and communicate findings clearly.

    + Coordinate follow-up actions to resolve issues.

    + Develop in-depth knowledge of consumer tire products and related technical services.

    2. Technical Education

    + Deliver technical training to field sales teams and customers.

    + Assist in designing and creating training materials that strengthen brand value and improve product usage.

    3. Engineering Information Management

    + Organize and plan training sessions, collaborating with vendors to ensure comprehensive coverage of required materials.

    + Maintain engineering databases and manage technical documentation.

    4. Technical Analysis, Reporting & Presentation

    + Provide technical support to internal teams and customers.

    + Apply engineering expertise to achieve project objectives and support internal initiatives.

    + Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on technical analysis.

    5. Vendor Coordination

    + Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure timely and successful project execution.

    + Coordinate activities to meet goals within established timelines and resource constraints.

    6. Additional Responsibilities

    + Manage test tires and engineering equipment.

    + Acquire external engineering services and supplies as needed.

    + Prepare product samples and other tasks as assigned by Technical Services management.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cornelius, NC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
