Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

Join our team as a Back Office Medical Assistant at an Urgent Care Facility. You will play an essential role in patient care by checking in and checking out patients, taking vitals, and logging information into the EMR/EHR system (NexGen). Your duties will also include verifying insurance and covering the front desk during the receptionist's lunch breaks. This role is scheduled for three days per week, including weekends, with shifts from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm.

Responsibilities

+ Check in and check out patients efficiently.

+ Record and monitor patient vitals.

+ Log patient information into the EMR/EHR system (NexGen).

+ Verify patient insurance details.

+ Cover front desk duties during receptionist's lunch breaks.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with appointment scheduling.

+ Proficiency with electronic health records.

+ Patient care experience.

+ Knowledge of back office medical procedures.

+ Experience with NexGen EMR system.

+ 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in drawing and phlebotomy is a plus.

+ Bilingual in Spanish.

+ Experience in both front and back office roles.

+ CPT certification is an advantage.

Work Environment

This position is located at an Urgent Care in West Covina, operating within one of the largest physician-led networks in Southern California. The work schedule consists of 12-hour shifts for three days per week, including weekends. You will be part of a team dedicated to health and wellness, working in an environment that values compassion, understanding, and attention to detail.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Covina, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
