    The medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.

    + Support clinicians and care management teams in chronic disease management.

    + Conduct patient examinations and treatments.

    + Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    + Take and record vital signs, with a preference for manual vitals.

    Essential Skills

    + Medical assisting

    + Phlebotomy

    + Healthcare knowledge

    + Basic medical terminology

    + BLS certification

    + CPR skills

    + Active driver's license

    + Ability to communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public.

    + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma required.

    + 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.

    + MA diploma or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or 3 years' MA experience.

    + Phlebotomy experience required.

    + Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.

    + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.

    + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.

    + Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.

    + Flexibility to float from one location to another as patient queue demands.

    + Independent, responsible, and organized.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes a shift schedule of Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and every other Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The role offers a permanent opportunity with compensation for travel between clinics at $0.67 per mile. If required to float outside of core locations, a $20 gas card is provided. Training on manual vitals is available.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35000.00 - $40000.00/yr.
