Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and optimize advanced automation solutions for high-performance manufacturing environments. This role is critical to driving efficiency, reliability, and innovation across our production lines.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design & Implement: Develop and deploy automation solutions for new and existing production lines to improve throughput and quality.
+ Optimize Systems: Modify and enhance existing automation systems to maximize performance, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs.
+ Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of automation systems.
+ Program & Troubleshoot: Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems using platforms such as Allen Bradley, Wonderware, and Ignition.
+ Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including electrical schematics, programming logic, and operational procedures.
+ Compliance & Safety: Ensure all automation projects meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
+ Continuous Improvement: Analyze system performance data and implement strategies for ongoing process improvement.
Required Skills & Expertise
+ Core Skills: PLC programming, Allen-Bradley, RSLogix, HMI development, SCADA systems (Wonderware, Ignition), AutoCAD.
+ Additional Expertise: Industrial networking, control systems, instrumentation, robotics integration, and motion control.
+ Preferred Knowledge: MES systems, data analytics for manufacturing, safety PLCs, and machine safeguarding standards.
Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (Master’s preferred).
+ Experience: 7+ years in industrial automation engineering with proven success in system design and optimization.
+ Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in Allen Bradley PLCs, Wonderware, and Ignition SCADA platforms.
+ Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, excellent communication, and leadership skills.
+ Bonus: Experience with robotics integration and advanced motion control systems.
Experience Level
Expert Level – Ideal candidates will have a strong track record of delivering complex automation projects in fast-paced industrial environments.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Newton, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
