    Laboratory Technician

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team in one of the largest genotyping labs within the agriculture industry. The role involves working in a highly automated environment focused on DNA research and chipping/extraction/detection processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Handle chipping, extraction, and detection processes related to DNA research.

    + Generate and evaluate lab-scale samples for customer technical programs and processes.

    + Support product research programs and manufacturing, providing relevant information for decision-making.

    + Troubleshoot and maintain equipment necessary for production and routine processing.

    + Support machine scale-up work and maintain appropriate logs, notebooks, and computer records.

    + Conduct internet and other information searches to aid problem-solving.

    + Perform stoichiometric calculations for production using computer programs or manual methods.

    + Understand and adhere to EHS SOPs and Responsible Care rules to maintain a safe work environment.

    + Manage multiple tasks effectively, work with multiple technical supervisors, and interface with manufacturing and research personnel.

    + Directly interface with customers if necessary, providing timely results to ensure product quality.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience Chemistry, Laboratory, or Biology.

    + Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.

    + 1+ year of lab experience preferred.

    This is a Contract position based out of Ankeny, IA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
