Job Title: Traveling Assistant Project Manager (Pacific West)
Job Description
The Assistant Project Manager will support project managers on diverse projects, varying in complexity, and may independently handle smaller, less complex projects. This role involves managing and acting as a coordinator and project liaison to clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved within the designated timeframe and budget.
Responsibilities
+ Assist global practice and engineering disciplines with overall efforts for engineering and/or construction projects.
+ Support the Project Management team in developing RFP packages, handling the bid and selection process, and creating detailed scope of work documents for downstream contracts.
+ Manage contractor submittals, requests for information, supplemental design instructions, and site drawing logs.
+ Verify contractor compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and material management programs.
+ Execute contracts, including change order management, field change directives, invoice approvals, and schedule management.
+ Assist with project controls, including project cost reporting, scheduling, establishing project work breakdown structures, project setup and closeout within the accounting system, and field progress tracking.
+ Develop internal and external reports, including project budgeting, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project status reports.
+ Participate in internal and external project risk reviews and consult with the Legal Department as necessary.
+ Close out contract and project documentation.
+ Adhere to safety programs, trainings, and policies, promoting and managing Safety & Health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Comply with all policies and standards.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited program.
+ 4 years of applicable experience.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment and work overtime on short notice.
+ High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline project team environment.
+ Experience with Primavera Contract Manager or similar change management software is preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Field experience in heavy industrial construction, particularly in power delivery, power generation, and mining.
+ Experience managing safety and health performance.
+ Proficiency in managing contractors and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Work Environment
This role requires extensive travel, approximately 90-100% of the time, with most projects located in the northwest including Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. The main base is in Vancouver, WA, with flexibility for remote work as needed. The typical schedule includes two weeks of travel followed by a four-day weekend. Employees are entitled to 30 remote/work-from-home days per year. This is a Permanent position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
