    Job Title: Limited X-Ray Tech

    Job Description

    As a Limited X-Ray Tech/MA, you will assist patients and medical practices with records requests, adhering to HIPAA protocols for all disclosed information. You will be responsible for scanning, filing, and importing medical record requests, charts, and outside medical records into the company's EMR system.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and process medical record copying requests and convert records into PDF format using company EMR systems.

    + Handle medical records copying requests received by interoffice mail, fax, US Mail, and personal service.

    + Date stamp all incoming medical records copying requests and comply with medical records requirements, including constraints and confidentiality issues.

    + Log all medical records into department tracking system, ensuring accurate entry of patient information, requestor address, telephone, and fax number.

    + Consistently check patient signatures or Proof of Service, requiring legal documentation for adults 18 and older, and authorized parent signatures for children.

    + Correctly identify patients on medical record copying requests by searching for correct medical record numbers in the company EMR system.

    + Notify patients of copying procedures and associated charges, leaving messages only for patients.

    + Identify improvement opportunities, implement countermeasures, and escalate issues to management as needed.

    + Check work logs for missing operative reports and obtain them from the correct platforms.

    + Match documents to patient charts for provider review, including consultations and lab reports.

    + Scan and file lab reports, correspondence, physician dictation/notes, progress notes, reports, and other approved documents in charts within designated time frames.

    + Ensure fulfillment of all mailed-in and faxed requests for medical records from insurance companies, managed care plans, hospitals, attorneys, patients, and other physicians with appropriate releases.

    + Verify authenticity of subpoenas and release of information forms, processing requests according to state guidelines.

    Essential Skills

    + BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA (American Heart Association)

    + Medical Assistant certification

    + Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in an Urgent Care setting

    + Limited X-Ray Technician license

    + Proficiency in medical terminology

    + Experience with EMR systems

    + Strong computer skills

    + Strong phone etiquette

    + Effective communication with patients, providers, pharmacies, and labs

    + Detail-oriented

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Urgent Care experience

    + Back office skills

    + CMA certification

    Work Environment

    This position is based in an Urgent Care environment, with work hours from Monday to Friday starting between 9 am and 12:45 pm. You will work every weekend, alternating between Saturday and Sunday. The main locations are Ontario and Rancho, with floating assignments to other facilities including Eastvale. The dress code includes scrubs of any color, with jackets that must have no hoodies or logos.

    This is a Contract position based out of Upland, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
