Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and implementing efficient production methods and processes. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, quality control, and overall productivity. The successful candidate will work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure the most effective and innovative production strategies are applied.
Reports to: Director of Manufacturing Planning
Duties include:
+ Analyze and design efficient production processes for manufacturing systems.
+ Develop and implement process improvements to reduce production time, cost, and waste.
+ Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, procedures, and flowcharts.
+ Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure proper integration of new methods into existing systems.
+ Conduct time studies, process optimization, and line balancing to enhance productivity.
+ Identify potential issues or bottlenecks in production and propose corrective actions.
+ Develop and support the introduction of new tools, technologies, and equipment to improve production processes.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
+ Assist in the design and layout of production lines, workstations, and facilities.
+ Conduct root cause analysis for problems related to manufacturing efficiency or quality.
+ Provide training and support to operators and production staff on new methods or procedures.
+ Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
+ Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally as a Methods Engineer or in a similar role.
+ Strong understanding of production processes, lean manufacturing principles, and process improvement techniques (such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
+ Experience with process mapping, time studies, and work measurement.
+ Proficient in using CAD software, manufacturing simulation tools, and ERP systems.
+ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
+ Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
+ Attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in a relevant field.
+ Experience in aerospace and defense industry
+ Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
+ Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and robotics.
Working Conditions:
+ Full-time, on-site role with occasional travel to production sites or vendor locations.
+ May involve standing or walking for extended periods in manufacturing environments.
+ Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain production areas.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
