Job Title: CNC Set Up/Operator** **Job Description
As a CNC Set Up/Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and proficiently operating all CNC machines. You will read and interpret blueprints, understand the basics of design, and offer improvements when necessary. You will also set up and use precision measuring tools, checking your work for conformance to specifications, and communicate effectively about work order status and completion. The role involves handling short run orders of 5-20 pieces and multiple set-ups throughout the day, requiring the ability to operate independently on Fanuc controlled machines and lathes, maintaining tight tolerances, and performing in-process inspections.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate CNC machines proficiently.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and make design improvements.
+ Use precision measuring tools and check work for conformance.
+ Communicate with others regarding work order status.
+ Handle short run orders and perform multiple set-ups daily.
+ Operate Fanuc controlled machines and lathes independently.
+ Maintain tight tolerances and perform in-process inspections.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with CNC, Machinist, Lathe, and CNC Set Up.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Capability to make offsets and adjustments.
+ Minimum 3 years experience using CNC machines.
+ Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds.
+ Proficiency in shop math and mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting CNC machines.
+ Experience in operating CNC lathe and toolroom machines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma.
+ Proficient computer skills.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
Work Environment
CNC Set Up Operators work closely with CNC Programmers and Engineers, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. The role demands prioritizing workload, working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and discussing technical problems with the manager and engineering. It requires frequent standing, walking, and using hands to operate machines and measuring devices. Specific vision abilities needed include close vision. Regular attendance and the ability to manage multiple tasks are expected.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Haven, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
