Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist - 2nd Shift** **Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated CNC Lathe Machinist for our 2nd shift, responsible for operating a Twin Spindle Twin Turret Lathe to manufacture essential fire fighting equipment, including handline nozzles, apparatus valves/fittings, industrial valves, adapters, caps, and plugs.
Responsibilities
+ Setup and operate CNC Lathe machining centers.
+ Spend 30% of your time performing setups and change outs.
+ Spend 70% of your time monitoring machine operations, performing inspections on completed parts, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
+ Execute 1 to 3 setups per shift, with production runs ranging from 20 to 200 parts.
+ Operate Okuma-Howa Lathes, including Bar Feeder Lathes and Custom-Thread Lathes.
+ Run 2 machines simultaneously, leveraging standard run time durations.
+ Utilize micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet specifications.
+ Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and fixtures on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
+ Read, understand, and edit programs for Bar Feeders.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on CNC lathes according to the work schedule.
+ Maintain a tolerance of +/- .005.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC Lathe machinery.
+ Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints with up to 100 dimensions.
+ Proficient in using precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
+ Experience working with tight tolerances of +/- .005.
+ Understanding of G & M codes for tooling changes, offset adjustments, and 5 position disc operations.
+ Mechanical and critical thinking skills for making precise adjustments.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Swiss Lathe experience.
+ Experience with a Single Spindle Twin Turret with Indexing.
+ G & M programming and editing experience.
+ Background in job shops, indicating extensive change-out experience.

Work Environment
Work in a dynamic environment with older equipment that is gradually being upgraded. The facility includes a foundry attached to the machining building, resulting in an oily and dirty atmosphere. The shift hours are 2:55pm to 10:55pm, with a $2.50/hr shift premium.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.96 - $28.46/hr.
