Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong electro-mechanical proficiency to join our team. The role involves working with specialized equipment, such as programmable logic controllers, and performing routine maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of machinery.

Responsibilities

+ Work with specialized equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines.

+ Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.

+ Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.

+ Diagnose breakdown problems and fit new parts to ensure equipment functions correctly.

+ Rapidly solve problems, dealing with emergencies, unplanned issues, and repairs efficiently.

+ Liaise with Production and Procurement departments and collaborate with Maintenance colleagues.

+ Assist with the specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings, or components.

+ Control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment, applying 5S practices.

+ Monitor, minimize, and control maintenance downtime and material costs.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience with machining and metal fabrication.

+ Strong electro-mechanical back ground.

+ Proficient in PLC control and troubleshooting.

+ Experience in preventive maintenance and electrical troubleshooting.

+ Ability to suggest and implement design changes to enhance efficiency, throughput, and uptime.

+ Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

+ Confidence to respond positively under pressure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Capacity to understand a range of supervising functions and procedures.

+ Ability to lead, train, and motivate others.

+ Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels.

+ Punctuality and reliability.

+ Knowledge of pneumatics, mechanical systems, electrical schematics, hand tools, and blueprint reading.

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing setting equipped with swamp coolers, ensuring comfort during shifts. The team size during shifts consists of approximately 10 employees. The training shift is from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with hiring opportunities for both 2nd and 3rd shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ALGODONES, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
