Job Title: Electrical Assembly Apprentice** **Job Description

Join our Electrical Assembly Apprentice Training Academy to assist in the mechanical and electrical builds of customer products. This role offers hands-on training in reading and understanding point-to-point wiring schematics and diagrams, covering 480v, 120v, and 24v systems. Gain in-depth experience with crimping, pulling, terminating, and installing UL panels and sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities

+ Assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels and switchgear systems, focusing on 3-phase power distribution.

+ Perform wire pulling, crimping, installation, and testing using point-to-point schematics.

+ Utilize tools such as multimeters, wire strippers, crimpers, and torque wrenches.

+ Replace parts on tools as needed and according to schedule.

+ Address routine questions and problems, escalating complex issues as necessary.

+ Work under direct supervision with frequent monitoring of output.

+ Maintain documentation and update panel layouts as needed.

+ Adhere to manufacturing protocols and lean production principles.

+ Follow detailed written or verbal instructions, including visual aids, diagrams, and schematics.

+ Ensure the work area is clean and organized according to 5S standards.

+ Comply with all company security policies.

+ Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

+ Coordinate with team members to organize tasks requiring multiple team members.

+ Communicate with inventory personnel regarding spare parts inventory and locations.

Essential Skills

+ Basic electrical wiring or assembly experience is preferred.

+ Strong initiative to learn a trade through an in-depth training academy.

+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

+ Proficiency in basic math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

+ Drive to learn to interpret blueprints, graphs, and schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with assembly, electrical, and mechanical processes.

+ Familiarity with hand and power tools.

+ Understanding of electrical schematics and wiring.

+ Knowledge of control panels, soldering, and crimping.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a structured training lab and a production environment. Training occurs in a classroom setting on-site, focusing on safety, electrical wiring, and standard protocols, with hands-on sessions for practical skills. The production environment is extremely clean and temperature-controlled, consisting of cell stations with 5-7 technicians per work cell. Standard shifts are 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday to Friday during training, transitioning to a 3:30 pm - 11:00 pm shift after training. Must be open to working Saturdays and overtime as required, but no more than 58 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
